I am 2 years into my 4 year plan and that means I have to start the next phase. Part of becoming more employable is to be in good physical shape, which I am not. I have started walking 2 miles a day and have made it for 7 days now. This is about a 45 min. time commitment each day so as I walk faster I should be able to also walk further.
I am also working on my personal self image. I am not a very photogenic person and therefore I avoid cameras at all cost. I have decided to work on changing this by taking a picture each day. I don't want to bombard everyone on facebook with them so I thought I'd post them here.
I will graduate with my AA from Clark in the Spring of 2013 and then move on to WSU Vancouver for my bachelors. My goal is to be employable in <2 p="p" years.="years.">Here are the pictures from the past 7 days... 2>

My Reading Basket
Today I am reading Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I learned about this book in a reading I did for my Women's Studies class. I was so intrigued by what I read about the author I had to pick up the book. So far I am very pleased I did. It is an easy to follow story but there is alot of new vocabulary for me. I love new vocabulary though so I am quite happy. I think I had to look up 4 word on the first page alone. Not because my vocabulary is limited necessarily but because the author is from Africa and has a vocabulary that is unframilure to me. I highly recommend this book. I will do a more complete review when I am done, maybe. I also picked up her next book, Half of a Yellow Sun.

My New Backpack
I am so excited! My new backpack came in the mail and it is lovely! All my college textbooks fit and there is still room for a lunch and wallet etc. I was worried about ordering one online because I couldn't tell if it would hold everything or not. But wahoo it worked out great. The stores around here all had ones with places for laptops and the extra padding made them heavy and bulky. This one is from LL Bean and it was very reasonably priced as well. It wasn't the biggest one they had but it is more than adequate for binders and text books for three classes. They also have patterns that are unique enough to pick out of a crowd.

Gratitude
I wanted to take a minute and be present with my day. Not stressed about tomorrow or worried about yesterday, but instead greatful for this moment. I really have a blessed life even on the days where nothing seems to be what I thought it would be.
